UK private medical insurance prices by age from Which?/LifeSearch sample quotes and insurers' own examples, with modelled yearly costs and the basis for each
PremierPMI Premium Report
The figures in this edition are modelled from public data, not taken from PremierPMI's own quotes. They come from Which?'s June 2026 sample quotes by LifeSearch (published 21 July 2026) and from prices insurers publish themselves, each with its date and basis below. Where we've calculated something (a yearly cost, a percentage change), we say so. When we have enough anonymised PremierPMI quote data, it will replace these figures.
Average monthly price by age
Which? and LifeSearch averaged sample quotes from UK insurers in June 2026 for one person at each age. These are published averages, not modelled.
Basis: single non-smoker, OX (Oxford) postcode, standard excess (typically £250), guided hospital list, June 2026 sample quotes. Not a quote for your postcode.

Prices insurers publish themselves

Method
- Published averages (the first table and the insurer examples) are shown as the source published them.
- Modelled figures (decade changes and yearly costs) are simple calculations from those published averages; we haven't adjusted for inflation, postcode or underwriting.
- The Which?/LifeSearch figures use an OX (Oxford) postcode. Prices in central London are usually higher, and other areas can be lower.
- None of these figures are PremierPMI quotes or the price you would pay. Your price depends on your age, postcode, health history, hospital list, excess and underwriting.
