Tax and cost
Employer-paid PMI is a P11D benefit in kind for the employee, while the premium is normally an allowable business expense and the employer pays Class 1A National Insurance on the benefit value. The practical question is rarely whether it is taxable but whether the benefit value beats the cost of replacing a key employee who is waiting months for treatment.
Our group scheme calculator gives an indicative per-employee monthly cost from headcount, age profile and cover level, built from real PremierPMI placements. It is indicative only — a formal quote requires a regulated conversation.
