Is the premium tax deductible?

Yes. The employer premium is fully deductible against corporation tax as an ordinary business expense under HMRC BIM45560. Each covered employee incurs a benefit-in-kind on P11D (HMRC EIM21765) and the employer pays Class 1A NIC at 15% (2025/26) on the BIK value.

Truly self-employed associates typically take individual PMI and can be co-funded via a health cash plan.
